A collection of comprehension booklets for year 2 retelling the Christmas story. Each booklet tells a different part of the story and comes in 3 differentiated levels. They are all based on the reading SATs paper, containing a similar style of questions. They are also laid out in the same way as a SATs booklet to provide the children with greater experience.
The story is split into the following sections:

The birth of Jesus
The shepherds visit baby Jesus
The Wise Men visit baby Jesus
This is a plan and resources for a Christmas RE lesson, with a focus on the middle of the story, when the shepherds visit Jesus. It is suitable for using with Key Stage 1.
The lesson plan includes a starter, a paired activity, a simple written activity and a plenary. There is a PowerPoint presentation of the story to use and a template for the written activity included in the price.

The theme in this pack is the Christmas story, which is split into four separate comprehensions:

Each comprehension contains a short piece of text with words that can be sounded out. There are three trickier words which have pictures to help children work out what they say.
The text is followed by 5 simple questions.
There is also a PowerPoint included in the pack containing a slide for each text so that you can go through the comprehensions before the children complete them. Each slide also contains 3 words that are trickier to sound out, with sound buttons underneath them.

This is a plan and resources for a KS1 RE lesson on Lent, with a focus on the theme of ‘Giving Something Up.’
The 5 page pdf lesson plan includes details of a group starter, a discussion, a drama activity, a group written activity, a poem writing activity and a plenary game. There are also differentiated targets, a list of resources and curriculum links and details about assessment for learning methods.
